Pennsylvania CareerLink is a statewide cooperative effort to provide career services to job-seekers, employers, and other interested individuals. The Hazleton Career Link Office serves as a clearinghouse for available state-sponsored training programs available to assist local industry. This office represents a one-stop location where customers have ready access to all of the government agencies involved in administering job training assistance.
The Luzerne County Career Link Center has the capability to draw from applicants registered in neighboring Career Links and through partnerships with the employment and training providers in the area. Local Career Link Centers will process applications, recruit, screen, and test workers based upon the company’s specifications. This will be done with no obligation to interview or hire any candidate who completes the screening and testing process. These services will be provided at no cost to the company.

The Northeast Pennsylvania Manufacturers & Employers Association assists area companies by acting as a business resource partner. Whether a company needs customized training for their workforce, has a question regarding human resource issues, or wants to network with professionals on a regional basis, the association provides the necessary tools.
The MAEA is a non-profit, membership-based association that is dedicated to helping area businesses remain competitive in this ever-changing global economy. The organization provides programs such as quarterly roundtable discussions; plant tours; hotline services for safety, environment, engineering, and human resource topics; management and supervisory training; compliance and regulatory training; and important wage, salary, and employee benefits benchmarking data. The association serves companies throughout Luzerne, Schuylkill, Carbon, Lackawanna, and Northumberland counties.
Luzerne/Schuylkill Workforce Investment Board, Inc. is a federally funded program made available through the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) in partnership with the local Workforce Investment Board (WIB), the Pennsylvania CareerLink offices, and the Luzerne County Board of Commissioners. Its intent is to promote employment opportunities for WIA-eligible customers in need of program assistance. Individuals are screened for eligibility based on criteria such as income guidelines (youth and adult) and dislocated worker status (based on plant closures and permanent layoffs). *contingent upon available funding.
