kurtz-greg-webGregory Kurtz has been appointed as CAN DO director of operations, CAN DO President Kevin O’Donnell announced.

As director of operations, Kurtz is responsible for the planning, management, administration and expediting of all building construction, land development and other technical projects. He will oversee the utilities and facilities divisions at CAN DO and serve as a liaison with project architects, engineers, contractors and municipal representatives.

Kurtz has 22 years of experience in facility management, project administration, manufacturing engineering support and construction management, including land development.

“As an experienced project manager, Greg is the ideal person for this role. He will work closely with the rest of the CAN DO staff to ensure projects continue to be brought to the Hazleton area and that those projects proceed in a timely fashion and professional manner,” O’Donnell said.

Kurtz holds an associate’s degree in mechanical engineering technology from Penn State University’s Hazleton campus.

“CAN DO has a very good reputation with development in Hazleton area and I wanted to be part of that going forward. My range of experience, including facility maintenance, consulting, construction and engineering, fits well with the goals of this position,” Kurtz said.

Several of the projects he is currently overseeing include adding ultraviolent sanitation to CAN DO’s sewage treatment facilities, developing an emergency access road in Humboldt Industrial Park North and pursuing additional water supply for CAN DO’s water system in the CAN DO Corporate Center area.
