CAN DO, Inc. recently appointed Samantha Fenicchia as its Director of Administration and Karen Martinez as an Accounting Specialist I.

Samantha FenicchiaSamantha FenicchiaIn her role as Director of Administration, Fenicchia reports directly to the President & CEO and will work closely with other management staff in assuring the completion of administrative support that is essential to CAN DO’s operations. She will also manage the office and maintain up-to-date knowledge of the organization’s projects and programs and assist in their administration. Her responsibilities will also include maintaining statistical information and coordinating office procedures.

She will act as a coordinator on major annual public relations projects, including Operation CAN DO and the CAN DO Community Christmas, while also spearheading the planning and coordination of special events, industry announcements, groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings and press conferences. In addition to working closely with the organization’s staff members, Fenicchia will be the liaison to CAN DO’s Student Action Committee while also providing assistance to the CAN DO Board of Directors.

Fenicchia graduated from Lock Haven University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a Public Relations/Communications minor and received her master’s degree in Professional Media Writing from East Stroudsburg University.

Prior to her position with CAN DO, Fenicchia held the role of Wedding & Event Manager at Edgewood, where she worked extensively on marketing functions and client outreach through community networking and lead generation. She also led a team of more than 15 staff members and coordinated with all departments of the golf course.

Her community involvement includes positions with the Miss Greater Hazleton Scholarship Organization, Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Women’s Networking Committee, Arianna’s CDH Foundation, Peace of Mind Yoga Studio and McAdoo Middle School.

Karen Martinez    Karen MartinezIn her role as Accounting Specialist I, Martinez will perform the daily accounting functions related to the operations of all CAN DO divisions, departments and associations. She will be responsible for assisting in managing all Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable, maintaining and analyzing a schedule of leasing division costs for which reimbursement is required, and preparing and distributing tenant invoices.

Her additional duties will include assisting in the preparation of the annual audit, participating in annual budget preparations, maintaining finance files, as well as assisting with everyday administrative responsibilities within the accounting department.

Martinez said, “I’m very excited because CAN DO is a company with such great community outreach. Everyone I have met has been wonderful. I’m excited to get together with the team and see how everything works within the organization.”

For the past 16 years, Martinez has served as the Accounts Payable/Receivable/Office Manager at TABcom, LLC, where she oversaw the accounts payable and receivable team and ran the day-to-day operations of the company’s accounting department.

Her volunteer activities include serving on the Church Congregational Council, where she’s held the positions of President and Vice President.
