CAN DO will present awards to industries in its parks and corporate center during its third annual Curb Appeal Awards industry mixer. The mixer will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. September 22, 2010, at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Humboldt Station.
“The Curb Appeal program recognizes the efforts of companies and employees who have worked hard to keep their properties in our parks looking attractive,” said CAN DO Chairman John Spevak. “We encourage industry representatives to attend the mixer as we present these awards.”
Awards will be given in two categories: companies with 1 to 75 employees in their local facility and companies with more than 75 employees in their local facility. In addition, one “Overall Winner” will be announced.
Companies have been nominated for the Curb Appeal Awards by the CAN DO Curb Appeal Committee. To be eligible to receive the awards, nominated companies must complete and return an official CAN DO Curb Appeal Awards Nomination Form.
In order to qualify for the awards, companies must meet certain judging criteria, which includes, but is not limited to, the following: overall appearance of the property; attractiveness of the property to a general audience; attractiveness of the property to industrial/business park representatives; detail of the landscaping project; and the use of plants, flowers and other landscaping materials.
“Improving the overall appearance of properties in our parks is beneficial on several levels. It can help to build team spirit and unity, add to employee pride and morale, improve employee recruitment and retention and increase the overall appearance of each property and the attractiveness of our parks as a whole,” said CAN DO President Kevin O’Donnell.
Residence Inn will host the Curb Appeal Awards mixer for the second year in a row. Additional sponsors are Arc Electric, Eddie’s Lawn & Landscaping, Hazleton Painting, Nause Landscaping, Northeast PA Manufacturers & Employers Association, U.S. Cold Storage, and Walko Landscaping & Nursery.
Those interested in attending the mixer can contact Nancy Stasko at 570-455-1508 by September 10.
