Best CigarCAN DO presented awards to the companies in its Humboldt, Valmont and McAdoo Industrial Parks, the CAN DO Corporate Center and Humboldt Station who went above and beyond to create an attractive outdoor environment at their facilities through landscaping and grounds maintenance as part of its 13th annual Curb Appeal Awards.

The Curb Appeal Award plaques were presented in the categories of Companies with 1 to 100 employees, Companies with more than 100 employees, Commercial Service, and Commercial – Hotels, Restaurants, Retail.

Best Cigar Pub and Prices was named the overall Curb Appeal Awards winner. Steve’s Lawn Care did the work at the company’s facility in the CAN DO Corporate Center.

Recipients in the 1-to-100 employees category and their landscapers are: BDS Corp. (VK Lawn Maintenance), Brake Parts LLC (building owner Mericle Commercial Real Estate), and Graham Packaging Company (building owner Mericle Commercial Real Estate).
Recipients in the more-than-100 employees category and their landscapers are: American Eagle Outfitters (Vito’s Lawn Care & Landscaping), Auto Zone Distribution Center DC9720 (Varsity Lawn Care – Y&E Landscaping and Grasshopper Lawns Inc.), Michael’s Northeast Distribution Center (Varsity Lawn Care – Y&E Landscaping), Henkel US Operations Corporation (Nause Landscaping), Web.com (Walko’s Landscaping), and Altadis USA Inc.

The Commercial Service award was presented to Service Electric Cablevision Inc. (Eddie’s Lawn and Landscaping) and the Commercial – Hotels, Restaurants, Retail award was presented to Best Cigar Pub and Prices (Steve’s Lawn Care).

CAN DO President and CEO Kevin O’Donnell said, “CAN DO has always realized that the beauty of our parks is one of the many things that sets us apart from the competition and helps attract national and international companies to Greater Hazleton. But we can’t do this alone, so we began the Curb Appeal Awards 13 years ago to honor the tenants who help make our parks beautiful through the vibrant and attractive landscaping displays they have at their facilities.”

CAN DO Director of Administration Nancy Stasko coordinated the awards program and Curb Appeal Awards committee co-chairs Barbara Cassise and Sherri Homanko served as award judges. Charles Burkhardt, Donna Palermo and Stasko were all members of the committee.
