CAN DO Joins Nucor Towers & Structures to Celebrate Continued Investment in Greater Hazleton

CAN DO, Inc. joined Nucor Towers & Structures, elected officials, and community partners on July 22 to celebrate the continued expansion of the company’s manufacturing facility in Valmont Industrial Park.

Nucor’s expansion is one of many recent investments by existing employers that continue to strengthen Greater Hazleton’s industrial parks and manufacturing economy. Continued investment by existing industries throughout the region is a strong indicator of a healthy economy, reflecting confidence in the local workforce, business climate, and long-term future of Greater Hazleton.

Since acquiring the former Summit Utility Structures operation in 2022, Nucor has invested nearly $60 million to modernize and expand its West Hazleton facility, reinforcing its long-term commitment to manufacturing in Greater Hazleton. The investment includes more than 76,000 square feet of new manufacturing and operational space, expanded production capacity, and facility improvements that position the operation for future growth while creating additional employment opportunities for the region.

As part of the celebration, Nucor dedicated one of its newest production areas, “Bobby’s Bay,” in memory of longtime teammate Robert “Bobby” Robinson. The dedication recognized Robinson’s leadership, mentorship, and lasting impact on the West Hazleton operation and the many teammates whose careers he helped shape.

CAN DO congratulates the entire Nucor Towers & Structures team on the milestone and looks forward to the company’s continued growth and success in Greater Hazleton.
