The CAN DO Student Action Committee kicked off its 2026-27 fiscal year on August 11, 2026, with an orientation that welcomed and introduced a new class of junior and senior representatives. Selected from local high schools throughout the Greater Hazleton Area, these students serve as non-voting members of CAN DO’s Board of Directors.
Senior representatives for this year include Griahnny Santos-Urena (MHS), who will serve as Student Chair, Hernan Arias, Jr. (HAHS), Yevhennii (Eugene) Hradil (HAAS), Madeline Rhodes (WHS), Amanda Stoffa (MMI), and Lorena Mejía Herrera (HACC). Junior representatives include Adrienne Culp (HAAH), Anna Drobnock (MMI), Joseph Esposito (WHS), Frankie Fallabel, III (HAHS), Breanne Hopeck (MHS), Mckenzie Kistulentz (HACC), Alvin Miller (HAAS), Jimmy Wagstaff (CA), and Giavanna Zullo (HAHS).
Throughout the fiscal year, students will actively participate in community-focused events such as Operation: CAN DO, CAN DO Community Christmas, the CAN DO Community Park Tree Lighting, and the Downtown Hazleton Alliance for Progress’ Wassailfest & Downtown Hazleton’s Holiday Night Market. Members will also visit local businesses and industries, giving them firsthand exposure to the region’s diverse career opportunities while expanding their knowledge of key industries, workforce needs, and leadership development. In addition, students will learn about entrepreneurship and the resources available to help entrepreneurs and small businesses start, grow, and succeed in Greater Hazleton.
