Hazleton Works

‎Providing individuals with pathways to meaningful employment opportunities.

Hazleton Works is a collaborative workforce development initiative designed to bridge the gap between employers, job seekers, and educational institutions in Greater Hazleton. Spearheaded by CAN DO in partnership with Partners in Education, the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce, Pennsylvania CareerLink®, and other community organizations, the campaign aims to address the region’s evolving workforce needs.

The initiative fosters collaboration between schools, businesses, and workforce organizations to ensure individuals receive the necessary training and skills for in-demand careers. By strengthening industry partnerships and engaging directly with the community, Hazleton Works seeks to create a more skilled and job-ready workforce.

The campaign was launched following insights from the Education, Workforce, and Training Needs Assessment, a study conducted by The Institute for Public Policy & Economic Development at Wilkes University and commissioned by Partners in Education. The assessment was funded through a grant from Luzerne County, as part of the CARES Act, to support economic development efforts in the region.
