Hazleton Works for Manufacturing: Producing at Scale with Troy Manufacturing

Troy Manufacturing, Inc. has established itself as a leading manufacturer in the health and wellness industry, with a strong and sustained presence in Greater Hazleton. Operating from Valmont Industrial Park, the company produces nationally distributed products, including the Stopain Clinical brand, with all manufacturing taking place locally.

Founded in 1997 by entrepreneur and current President Anthony Cicini, Troy began as a contract manufacturer and has since expanded its operations and capabilities. Cicini often describes the company as “a 28-year-old startup,” reflecting its continued growth mindset and willingness to evolve in a competitive industry.

The company relocated to Greater Hazleton in the early 2000s to support its growth, expanding into a 40,000-square-foot facility in Valmont Industrial Park that was quickly filled. A defining moment came in 2010, when Troy acquired the Stopain brand — transitioning from contract manufacturing to owning and producing its own products.

“In 2010, we bought the Stopain brand, a brand we used to manufacture for, and that was a big leap,” Cicini said. “We went from being a contract manufacturer to owning and manufacturing our own brands, competing with others in the market.”

Today, Troy Manufacturing continues to expand its product portfolio, including the launch of Ralli, a brand focused on women’s health. All products are manufactured in Hazleton using domestically sourced materials, reinforcing the company’s commitment to U.S.-based production.

“We manufacture in the USA. Everything is done here in Hazleton,” Cicini said. “All of our components and materials are sourced domestically as well.”

For individuals exploring career opportunities, Troy represents a clear example of how manufacturing roles can evolve into long-term, stable careers. The company emphasizes internal advancement, with many employees progressing from entry-level roles into leadership positions across operations, quality, and management.

Alexis Balliet, who recently advanced to Chief Executive Officer, built her career within Troy and represents the long-term opportunity available within the organization. Similarly, General Manager Tom Ferguson joined the company after college and has grown into a leadership role, reinforcing Troy’s commitment to developing talent from within.

“There’s a lot of opportunity here,” Balliet said. “Our success is driven by the people who show up every day and take pride in what they do.”

This emphasis on internal growth is intentional. Leadership development and promotion from within are core to how Troy operates, creating pathways for employees to build careers over time rather than simply hold a job.

“Our products are very good, but it’s the people behind them that really make the difference day in and day out,” Cicini said.

This reflects a broader workforce reality in Greater Hazleton: manufacturing offers accessible entry points and clear pathways for long-term career growth. At Troy, that progression is supported by hands-on experience and sustained investment in employees.

Hazleton’s location continues to support that growth. With direct access to Interstates 80 and 81, companies like Troy can efficiently distribute products nationwide while operating within a region known for its industrial infrastructure and workforce.

“From a distribution standpoint, this location is extremely helpful,” Cicini noted. “You can serve a national customer base from here and compete at a high level.”

Troy Manufacturing is one of many companies in Greater Hazleton demonstrating that nationally competitive products can be developed and produced locally. Across the region’s industrial parks, businesses are creating opportunities in production, maintenance, logistics, quality control, and management — supporting a diverse and resilient economy.

Through Hazleton Works, these stories are intended to highlight clear career pathways and long-term opportunities within the local workforce.
