Judging for CAN DO’s 18th Annual Curb Appeal Awards to Take Place in July

CAN DO, Inc., announces the return of the highly anticipated Curb Appeal Awards this fall. Now in its 18th year, the awards recognize tenants across CAN DO’s business and industrial parks that go above and beyond to beautify properties through landscaping and grounds maintenance.

Returning as judges for the 2025 season are Dr. Sherri Homanko and James Dino, who will evaluate participating properties throughout the month of July. Each site will be judged based on first impressions, landscaping and appeal, safety and cleanliness, and creativity.

“I’m thrilled to be judging Curb Appeal again alongside Jim,” Homanko said. “His historical knowledge of the parks adds so much value to the process. It’s inspiring to see how the parks evolve each year and how businesses take pride in their properties. I’m especially excited to see what’s new in terms of upgrades, construction, and creative displays.”

Dino echoed the enthusiasm, adding, “The Curb Appeal Awards are a great reminder of how invested our industries are in maintaining not just functionality, but an inviting, professional environment. It speaks volumes about the pride our business community has in Hazleton.”

Winners will be revealed at an industry-exclusive mixer held this fall at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Humboldt Station. A total of ten businesses will be honored across the parks:

  • Humboldt Industrial Park: Three awards for companies with under 100 employees, 100–200 employees, and over 200 employees
  • Valmont Industrial Park: Two awards for companies with under 100 employees and over 100 employees
  • One winner each from McAdoo Industrial Park, the CAN DO Corporate Center, and Humboldt Station
  • Honorable Mention: One company will be recognized for their beautification efforts despite not fitting within the framework of the traditional judging criteria
  • Overall Winner: Lastly, one company will be recognized as the overall winner of the competition

As of June, CAN DO’s four parks are home to 114 businesses that collectively employ nearly 15,000 people across the Greater Hazleton Area and surrounding communities. The Curb Appeal Awards continue to celebrate the hard work and pride these businesses put into making their workplaces welcoming and attractive.
