CAN-DO-VCC-mixer-webCAN DO and the Valley Country Club co-sponsored an industry mixer at the country club Wednesday.

Leaders from various companies throughout Greater Hazleton attended, mingling with fellow business representatives. The event was chaired by Charlie Burkhardt, CAN DO Community Relations Committee chairman.

CAN DO President Kevin O’Donnell said, “We felt this was an excellent opportunity for businesspeople to get to know one another in a relaxed setting. The mixer provided attendees with a more informal way to share information about their companies with their peers.”

During the mixer, business representatives were able to see the clubhouse, tennis courts, pro shop and swimming pool at the country club. Additionally, a business card drawing was held for prizes including merchandise and golf rounds.

Clark Luis, head PGA professional at the country club, gave a short program detailing the amenity package available at the club as well as the unique aspects of the new corporate membership offering.

George Petrole, part of the Valley Country Club’s membership committee, explained the benefits of the new corporate membership.

“In the past, most corporate memberships were locked in to individual employees, owners or officers of companies and had limited usefulness for companies in terms of entertaining those who weren’t members. This membership will allow members to bring in clients, vendors or employees who aren’t specifically designated as members,” said Petrole, who is also a golf consultant and lifetime member of the PGA of America. Also, the corporate membership was previously a four-person package but is now available for two to eight designated members.
