Who are you and where are you from?

I am James Reimold and I am from Drums, Pennsylvania.

We love seeing local students stay in the area after they graduate! What made you want to stay in Greater Hazleton? Do you plan on staying in the area after college?

I wanted to stay in the Hazleton area because it is where I grew up and there are a lot of excellent employment and development opportunities. Ideally, I would like to stay in the area after college.

What was your experience like at the Academy of Sciences? What are your plans now that you finished high school?

My experience at the Academy of Sciences was overall pleasant. Now that I have finished high school, I’m currently attending Johnson College’s Hazleton campus to take courses in Electrical Construction Technologies.

Given your interest in Electrical Construction Technology, what made you want to learn about water and wastewater treatment?

I’ve always had a peaked interest in biology so learning about water and wastewater treatment allowed for me to get the best of both worlds since there are many concepts and areas of expertise that go into the field.

What made you want to pursue this internship with CAN DO?

I wanted to pursue the internship with CAN DO because they’re a great organization that have done a lot of good things for our community. With all the work they do in developing the Greater Hazleton area, I knew it would be great opportunity for me to learn from them.

Let’s get to know you a bit more! What do you like to do for fun?

I enjoy spending my time in the outdoors and playing sports like baseball.

Do you consider yourself to be a glass-half-full or a glass-half-empty type of person?

I consider myself a glass half full type of person because it always helps to look at the good.

What’s your favorite local restaurant?

Third Base.

Staff discussions get pretty intense when it comes to coffee. How do you like yours made?

With two scoops of sugar.

At this very moment, are there more doors or wheels in the world?

Doors.
