Springwood Hospitality, The Norwood Company, and CAN DO, Inc. Celebrated Groundbreaking of New Home2 Suites by Hilton in Humboldt Station

Springwood Hospitality, The Norwood Company, and CAN DO, Inc. gathered alongside community and business leaders on Thursday, June 26th, to celebrate the official groundbreaking of the new Home2 Suites by Hilton at 61 Station Circle in Humboldt Station.

The 107-room, extended-stay hotel will be constructed by The Norwood Company on a 2.46-acre site purchased by Springwood Hospitality. The three-story, 63,322-square-foot facility will include 72 King Studios, 6 King One-Bedroom Suites, and 29 Double Queen Studios. The hotel will also feature modern amenities tailored to both short- and long-term guests including an outdoor patio with fire pit and gas grills, an indoor saltwater pool, and Spin2Cycle fitness and laundry space. Once operational, the hotel is expected to create approximately 25 new jobs in the Greater Hazleton area.

“Hazleton continues to be a strategic location for growth thanks to its connectivity and strong industrial presence,” said CAN DO President & CEO, Joseph Lettiere. “This project not only expands the region’s lodging offerings, but also strengthens Humboldt Station’s growing role in business, travel, and economic development. We are proud to welcome Springwood Hospitality to the Greater Hazleton area.”

The new hotel comes at a time of strong extended-stay demand in the Hazleton market, which sits at the crossroads of Interstates 80 and 81. With significant industrial development planned in the area, business travel and overnight stays are expected to grow.

“We’re thrilled to break ground on this new Home2 Suites and become part of Greater Hazleton,” said Justin Shelton, CEO of Springwood Hospitality. “This hotel is designed to meet the needs of today’s travelers, offering flexible accommodations, modern amenities, and a welcoming environment. We look forward to opening our doors and contributing to community’s continued growth.”

“It’s a privilege for us to lead construction on the new Home2 Suites by Hilton and to support Springwood Hospitality in bringing this exciting project to the region,” said Joe Mitchell, President & CEO of The Norwood Company. “Greater Hazleton has firmly established itself as a thriving hub for industry and commerce, and we’re proud to contribute to its continued success. This project is a great opportunity to engage the local labor force, support ongoing job growth, and deepen Norwood’s presence in one of Pennsylvania’s most actively growing regions.”

The property will join a growing number of developments in Humboldt Station, an extension of the broader CAN DO portfolio of industrial and business parks that serve more than 100 industries and employ nearly 15,000 residents across the Greater Hazleton area.
