Hazleton Works

Hazleton Works is a collaborative workforce development initiative designed to bridge the gap between employers, job seekers, and educational institutions in Greater Hazleton. Spearheaded by CAN DO in partnership with Partners in Education, the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce, Pennsylvania CareerLink®, and other community organizations, the campaign aims to address the region’s evolving workforce needs.

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce

The mission of the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce is to contribute to its members’ business success by providing them with valuable information, services and networking opportunities, and by taking active measures to help them improve the business climate and quality of life in Greater Hazleton. As part of that commitment, the Chamber offers a wide range of informative and educational seminars and training throughout the year.

Luzerne/Schuylkill Workforce Investment Board, Inc.

The Luzerne/Schuylkill Workforce Investment Board (L/S WIB) is a private, non-profit corporation dedicated to serving Luzerne and Schuylkill Counties. Their mission is to ensure a demand-driven, world-class workforce system that is aligned with both economic development and education. They are committed to creating opportunities that support a competitive regional workforce and strengthen our local economy. Their vision is for Luzerne and Schuylkill Counties to be home to a workforce that is globally competitive, highly skilled, and prepared to meet the evolving demands of today’s labor market.

Partners in Education

Greater Hazleton Partners in Education (PIE) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) business education partnership actively working with our community partners to bridge the gap between school and the workplace in order to help our future workforce explore careers, learn valuable job skills, and make meaningful professional connections. Their mission is to ensure that all students leave school with the academic, technical, and employability skills necessary to be successful in the 21st century workplace.

NEPA Manufacturers and Employers Association (MAEA)

MAEA is a private, non-profit, membership-based organization that currently serves more than 345 member companies in 24 counties, including southern Luzerne. Their mission is to provide information and services to help member companies remain competitive in today’s business world. Members benefit from access to industry-specific educational resources and certification programs that sharpen skills and expand knowledge.

NEPIRC

Founded as a not-for-profit technical assistance firm, NEPIRC has become a valuable resource for manufacturing companies in Northeastern Pennsylvania. NEPIRC’s mission is to empower small and mid-sized manufacturers with world-class assessment, performance evaluation, training, and consultative services.
