Greater Hazleton CAN DO, Inc. is pleased to announce the addition of Kathryn Hinkle as its new Accounting Specialist I.
In this role, Hinkle will support the organization’s financial operations across all departments and divisions. Her responsibilities include processing accounts payable and receivable, preparing monthly reports, maintaining general ledgers in Sage Intacct, and assisting with budget preparation and audits. She will also work closely with CAN DO’s Chief Financial Officer, Patricia Gendler, to ensure accurate financial documentation and to uphold the organization’s high standards of fiscal accountability.
Hinkle brings extensive experience in corporate finance to her new role. Most recently, she served as a Health Insurance and Special Billing Supervisor at Mission Autism Clinics, where she led a team responsible for authorizations, claims submissions, and payment reconciliation across multiple insurance providers. Over her four-year tenure with the organization, she also held roles in billing, authorizations, and clinic coordination—developing a comprehensive understanding of revenue cycle management and client services.
Prior to her time with Mission Autism Clinics, Hinkle held positions with Hazleton Surgery Center, Drexel College of Medicine, and GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals, where she specialized in insurance verification, reimbursement analysis, and accounts receivable collections.
A resident of Hazleton, Hinkle earned her Bachelor of Science in Business from Penn State University in 2014.
Gendler emphasized the strength Hinkle adds to the finance team.
“We are excited to welcome Kathryn to our team,” Gendler said. “Her hands-on experience in financial operations, billing, and team supervision make her an exceptional fit for this position. We are confident she will play an important role in supporting our accounting functions and ensuring CAN DO’s continued financial success.”
Hinkle shared her enthusiasm for joining the team and contributing to the organization’s mission of improving the quality of life in the Greater Hazleton area.
“I’m thrilled to join CAN DO and contribute to an organization that makes a tangible impact in the community,” she said. “I look forward to using my background in financial operations to support the team and advance the organization’s goals.”
As Accounting Specialist I, Hinkle will assist in managing daily financial operations, maintain regulatory compliance with the Public Utility Commission, and collaborate with internal departments and external partners including auditors, vendors, and tenants. She will also support the maintenance of leases for commercial properties and help prepare annual audit and budget materials.
