CAN BE (Community Association for New Business Entrepreneurship), the entrepreneurial arm of CAN DO, Inc., continued its annual sponsorship of the award.

The purpose of this award is to promote the development of future business owners, under the age of 35, within Greater Hazleton. CAN DO Coordinator of Entrepreneurial Services Jocelyn Sterenchock presented Gottstein with the award during the ceremony.

“Scott Gottstein truly embodies the entrepreneurial spirit that we have here in Northeast PA. He’s invested a tremendous amount of hard work and dedication into his many business ventures and is certainly a deserving recipient of this year’s award. I am excited to see the many great things that Scott and his staff have planned throughout Greater Hazleton,” Sterenchock said.

Gottstein is co-owner of Gottstein Chiriboga Holdings. The company is currently working on two new business projects in Greater Hazleton. The first is Elevate Business & Wellness Center, which is located on the corner of 15th and Church streets in Hazleton. The building will house office space, a coffee shop and lounge, and a fitness and wellness club. The second project is refurbishing the inside of the former Remember When building on Broad Street in downtown Hazleton, where the company plans to house a full-scale Irish Pub-style bar, restaurant and music venue named Broad & Barrel.

Gottstein Chiriboga Holdings has grown substantially over the past few years, from five employees to its current approximately 20 employees, and sales have increased more than 30% in 2017. The company’s plan is to delve deeper into the real estate and hospitality industries and its long-term goal is to broaden its portfolio into the restaurant, hotel, real estate and vacation condominium industries.
