CAN DO Christmas Heights ChorusThe 27th annual CAN DO Community will be broadcast across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN) on Tuesday, Dec. 24 at 9:30 p.m. and Wednesday, Dec. 25 at 10:30 a.m.

Cable subscribers can view the hour-long concert on Service Electric Cablevision Channel 20 in the Hazleton area and Service Electric Cable TV & Communications Channel 16 in the Wilkes-Barre market.

Additionally, the concert will be rebroadcast on WYLN-TV 35 on Thursday, Dec. 19 at 3 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 21 at 9 p.m.; Tuesday, Dec. 24 at 12 p.m. and Wednesday, Dec. 25 at 6 p.m.

The CAN DO Student Action Committee hosted CAN DO Community Christmas before a record crowd earlier this month at Christ Lutheran Church in Hazleton.

This year’s performers were the MMI Preparatory School Chamber Ensemble under the direction of Tina Lizbinski, the McAdoo/Kelayres Mustang Chorus under the direction of Sandra Hoppey, the Heights Terrace Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Jennifer Gerhard, the Hazleton Area High School Cougar Crooners under the direction of Kim Sharonoff, the Immanuel Christian School Chorus under the direction of Nate Spanos, the Hazleton Area High School Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Joseph Stefanko and the Heights Terrace Elementary School Third Grade Chorus under the direction of Rachel Brimmer.

The CAN DO Student Action Committee plans the CAN DO Community Christmas and includes co-chairs Marin Dremock (Hazleton Area Academy of Sciences), Daniella Guillen (Hazleton Area High School) and Macy Zenier (MMI Preparatory School). Additional Student Action Committee members are: Allison Gottstein (HAAS); Jasmine Beiler (HAHS), Isabelle Ritz (HAHS), Alivia Platek (HAHS), Yokaira Concepcion (Immanuel Christian School), Cleidy Castillo (ICS), Julia Kreisl (Marian High School), Alexander Kubishin (MHS), Maxwell Schwabe (MHS), Christian Badamo (MMI), Noah Long (MMI), Rachel Caccesse (Weatherly Area High School) and Kelly Royer (WAHS). The event is coordinated by Nancy Stasko.
