Jocelyn Sterenchock and Ryan RobinsonJocelyn Sterenchock and Ryan Robinson(Hazleton, PA – November 20, 2020) – IntelliGreen Managing Partner and Vice President of Sales and Marketing Ryan Robinson received the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Young Entrepreneur of the Year award during the Chamber’s virtual Business and Community Awards program. CAN BE, an equal opportunity provider, sponsors the annual award, which promotes the development of future business owners and operators within Greater Hazleton.

Robinson, said, “As a Managing Partner and VP of Sales and Marketing for both IntelliGreen and American Eagle Solutions, my roles and responsibility surround expanding our product lines and offerings to achieve a national presence in smart building technology and energy efficiency.”

IntelliGreen, which has an office in the CAN BE Innovation Center in the Valmont Industrial Park, traditionally was an efficiency and safety consulting firm but shifted its business model due to COVID-19. With the understanding that schools, universities, hospitals, manufacturing companies and industries would screen individuals for a fever and mask, the company developed and rolled out its first facial recognition temperature scanner in less than four months. Today, IntelliGreen is a multi-product company supplying several schools, hospitals, and businesses with entrance management tools to maximize safety and efficiency.

Since March, IntelliGreen devices in use throughout several facilities, including many in Greater Hazleton, have compiled over one million scans. With a fever being a leading symptom for COVID-19 and other infectious diseases, the Intelli-Temp scanner, which features an eight-inch LCD display, allows patrons to stand up to three feet from the device and still receive an accurate and fast temperature reading.

American Eagle Solutions, which won the Chamber’s Green Business of the Year award in 2019, was founded from the understanding that the traditional method of completing energy efficiency projects was both costly and time consuming. AES has developed a transparent model to complete projects at a much lower cost without sacrificing quality. As a result, the company continually executes LED lighting and IoT controls programs with speed and efficiency, all while removing the customers' doubt of whether the return on investment will be achieved.

Nominees for the Chamber’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year award must be between the ages of 13 and 35; reside or attend school in the Greater Hazleton area; attend school, high school or college or have successfully completed high school or be a full-time graduate student; have a for-profit business currently operating within Greater Hazleton that has been in operation for at least three months; and have a client/customer base of three or more. Applicants were judged on staying power, growth and community contribution.

CAN DO Director of Economic Development Jocelyn Sterenchock said, “CAN BE is proud to sponsor this award every year and recognize the innovative entrepreneurs we have right here in our community. It’s been an incredibly challenging time for entrepreneurs but IntelliGreen has already increased to four employees less than a year after entering the CAN BE Innovation Center. It’s really exciting to witness the immediate success that IntelliGreen has had in the market.”
